HAND PRINTING PROCESSES

with instructor Camilla Taylor
Saturday, August 26th, 10am-4pm
Sunday, August 27th, 10am-4pm

This two day workshop will cover several hand printing techniques for artists to try both in the class and then use those skills later on in their own studios.  We're commonly asked what an artist can do with printmaking that doesn't require a press, and in this workshop we seek to do an overview of several printmaking applications possible without a press.  This workshop is excellent for artists who want to print at home, or teachers interested in introducing some printmaking into their curriculum.

We'll cover relief printing in a couple of ways, black ink on white paper and introduce color with "puzzle piece" plates.  We'll use linoleum, Softcut, and collagraph plates for our relief section. Paper lithography, an easy printmaking method that can be printed by hand and the plates made with readily available materials.  We'll try some monoprint stencil techniques.  And lastly, we'll cover cyanotype.  Each participant will be able to make a multi-media print with the techniques, or several small prints experimenting with these.

$250, all materials are included

Any cancellations will be reimbursed minus a $40 nonrefundable deposit up to 7 days prior to the workshop start date.
