The final relief blocks will then be inked and printed to produce a small edition. An additional monprinting demo will be shown to incorporate color and produce variable prints.

This workshop will be instructed by skilled relief printmaker, Pável Acevedo, who has an extensive relief printmaking background. Participants will be instructed on how to use various carving tools and produce a wide variety of detailed elements through Pável’s guidance.

During the second meeting, participants will learn how to properly ink up and print their blocks on a press, along with a linocut transfer technique using plexiglass to create a diverse series of print variations. This technique is used as a way to experiment with the approach of adding color into the linocut, without relying on extra plates or chine collé.
